September 19th: Due to injuries our women's soccer team has cancelled the remainder 4 games this fall.

SMCC 4 v. CMCC 1

The tale of two halves as CMCC dominated the early part of the first period only to give up a goal to Easter Palmeri on a the near post off corner kick to SMCC 1 CMCC 0. Kim Migliara tied the game before half with a beautiful strike to the upper right corner of the SMCC net. Halftime ended 1-1.

The injury bug stuck again with Defender Ramona Mainit had to leave the game for a strained thigh muscle. The Girls tried to rally but the play of SMCC Nicole Poland who long shots finally hit the mark and SMCC went on for the win.

Unity- 1 vs. CMCC- O

Sunny skies were on hand in Auburn as Unity College and CMCCC Mustangs battled to a full 90 minutes with the score 0-0. Unity had multiple chances all turned back by last minute fill in Goalkeeper Katie Heffernan (Portland, CT). Katie and the Mustang defense turned back 17 shots with the a strong back four line up of Kerstin Kenney, Kim Migliara , Erin Turner and Jen Caton.

The first minutes of Overtime were dominated by CMCC with a golden goal chance served in from Danielle McCusker to be just out of the reach of an on rushing Kenney. Score still 0-0.

Play was even until a corner was given to Unity and the service was spot on but cleared by the Mustang defense in a scrum in front of the net. The ball ricocheted of a CMCC player and rolled into the side of the goal for a 1-0 Unity win. Team left disappointed and looking for another shot at Unity’s home field but games with SMCC and Maine-Machias must come first before payback can be delivered.

EMCC 2 vs. CMCC 6

Kim Milgliara opened up her 2011 season with 2 goals and an assist as CM handed Eastern Maine a 6-2 defeat.

CM picked up play after giving up first half goals to EM's Jenna Stephenson and Lindsey Allen. Mustang Celeste Michaud the second goal of the half to put the lady mustangs ahead for good 3-2 at half. Second half goals by Migliara, Danielle McCusker and Kestin Kenney rounded out the productive second half scoring half barage. Assits by Erin Turner and strong defense from Jen Canton, Arline Howe and Ramonda Mainit secured the first win fpr goalkeeper Vikki Boelhart who recorded 14 saves.

Central ME 1 UMA 3

University Of Maine- Augusta (2-1-0) visited CMCC (0-1-0) for our opening game of the season and handed the Mustangs a 3 to 1 defeat. The play and momentum was in Central Maine CC favor in the first half with multiple chances on goal by forwards Danielle McCusker and Megan Latour (Lisbon, ME). Late in the first half, UMA scored on a long dribbling counterattack run through the middle by Crystal Chadwick scored on CMCC Goalkeeper Vikki Boehlert (Auburn, ME).

Second half continued with spirited play with UMA gaining control after an injury to CM midfielder Katie Heffernen on a scoring chance mid half. Two second half UMA Goals were scored by Ashley Peaslee. A late consolation goal was scored by McCusker, assisted by Marley Stevens (Livermore, ME) to round out the scoring. The Mustangs take on EMCC this Saturday followed by a home game on Sunday against Unity College both Women’s games start at 12:00 noon.
