Great Bay drops two to Central Maine CC

The Great Bay Community College softball team dropped two close games on Saturday to Central Maine Community College, the first game was a well played tight game that saw Great Bay leave 8 runners on base including the bases loaded in the sixth inning. Audrey Notargiacomo lead the offense with two hits, a walk, two stolen bases and a run. Amelia Sheedy added two hits and two RBI's. Courtney Fowler and Harlee Palmer hit two line drives right at CMCC defenders to hand GBCC a tough loss. Makayla Herget took the loss on the mound allowing three runs and Palmer pitched three scoreless innings in relief. The second game was a cold slug fest with Great Bay dropping a 13-9 decision, after taking a 9-8 lead in the third inning CMCC took the lead with a four run fifth. Notargiacomo added two more hits including a double, Meaghan Sandler had a hit and played tremendous defense at shortstop, Sheedy had a long double and Fowler had a triple with four RBI's. Emily Brashear scored two runs. Herget took the loss in relief and Fowler pitched two innings allowing three runs. GBCC plays at home Saturday at noon at Alumni field against Southern Maine Community College.
