Herons Volleyball secure huge win against undefeated Paul Smith’s College

The Herons finished strong on Saturday besting the previous undefeated Bobcats from Paul Smith's College.  The Herons got off to a slow start losing the first set 25-17 and the second set 25-23 but they turned it around to win the last three sets 25-22, 26-24 and 15-12.  Kayleigh MacDougall led the way for the Herons posting a season best 23 kills and 28 digs in this match.  Hailey Nesbitt and Shannon Armstrong kept the team alive throughout the match also posting 22 digs and 15 digs respectively.  The Herons had to make a few in game adjustments at setter with Cassidy Gibb, Skylar Ward and Nicole Knowles all chipping in.  All three Herons made plays throughout the match as the team finished with a season high 48 assists. 

 

The Herons struggled in their first match of the day, dropping 3 straight sets to a very motivated team from Central Maine Community College.  Leading the Herons in this game was Kayleigh MacDougall with 22 kills, and Cassidy Gibb with 23 assists. 

The Herons are back in action this weekend at Central Maine Community College as they will face CMCC at 10am and SMCC at noon.
