Despite jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning, the Mustangs couldn't hold on and got derailed by a 20-4 score. CM jumped out to an early lead when Bryce Walker (Bethel, ME) scored on a base hit by Logan Hewes (Winslow, ME) . Ian Nason (Camden, ME) also drove in a pair of runs on a base hit up the middle scoring Robbie Babb (Dirigo, ME) and Hewes. Eric Bauer (Auburn, ME) drove in Nason to make the score 4-0 after the top of the 1st. The lead didn't last long when the Mustang defense allowed SMCC to score 8 runs in the top of the first. From there it was all SeaWolves netting enough runs to win in the 5th by the mercy rule with a final score of 20-4.
