Auburn, ME- Brandon Varney, a 2016 graduate from Edward Little High School in Auburn, Maine has committed to play baseball at Central Maine Community College. Brandon is a versatile player who will help the Mustangs in many ways. In addition to helping solidify the catching position he will also add inning on the mound and in the field. His three years of starting behind the plate at EL has made him a great leader on the field. He will be a major factor in our defense and contribute to the development of our pitching staff.

Edward Little Head Coach, Dave Jordan, commented, "Brandon is a player who will give maximum effort on the field each day. He blends physical talent with great effort and is extremely coachable. He is a great teammate who will do whatever is needed to help the team win."

CM Head Baseball Coach, Ryan Yates, says, "Brandon is a great player who is one of our top recruits coming in this year. He will help our pitching staff tremendously by being a polished receiver behind the plate and getting our pitchers those "extra strikes". He will get a lot of innings on the mound and help us out offensively as well. I'm looking forward to coaching him and having him on our team this year."
