Auburn, ME – Trent Spaulding, a 2016 graduate from Oxford Hills High School, has committed to play baseball at CM this year. Spaulding, a high honors student was also a member of the student council.

Trent responded to the questions below:

CM: Why did you choose CM?
Trent: I chose CM because they offer the program that I would like to take to help get me my first step of my plan to become a veterinarian. Also, they have an open spot on the baseball team that I feel like I can step up to the plate and benefit from the baseball team to become a better baseball player.

CM: What did you like about the campus?
Trent: I like the Tower because it's a building that has everything I need. The Tower has so many resources you can go to get help. CM also gave me the opportunity to play college baseball while taking the program I want to take. Everyone on the campus is very welcoming and helpful.

CM: How do you think playing college baseball will differ from your previous experience?
Trent: It will change my experience by bonding with the kids that come from all over. Also, it will be faster and more difficult but it will help me achieve my goal to play college baseball and become a better baseball player. I have the chance to experience what college baseball is all about.

CM: What are you most looking forward to about attending and playing baseball at CM?
Trent: I am looking forward to meeting new people while playing college baseball and studying in the program that I plan to take to achieve on of my goals in life. Also, this gives me a chance to further my education and save money.

CM: What do you think you can bring to the team next year?
Trent: I am dedicated each and every single play. I can play any position if needed. I can pitch when needed as well. I will work hard to get better and faster each and every day.

CM: Describe your baseball experience?
Trent: Ever since I was four years old I have been playing baseball. I lived in Mechanic Falls, Maine until I was 12 years old. We moved to Oxford and I played for the Babe Ruth team where I slowly picked up pitching. I was cut from the middle school team twice –last kid to be cut. Later on I played four year of high school ball.

CM: What is your biggest strength in baseball?
Trent: I have a very large knowledge of baseball and how it's played and what to do at any given moment. I also have a very strong dedication and work ethic on the field always going at 100% at all times. I am very flexible with any position on the field.
