South Portland, ME - Saturday was a great day for Evan Roberts, as Roberts threw a shutout to carry Central Maine Mustangs to a 3-0 victory over NHTI. Mustangs' Roberts kept NHTI off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the mound. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out nine, and walking one.
Zach Poisson was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted eight innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
The game was never in doubt after the third, as Central Maine scored one run on an RBI single by Austin Wing. Central Maine Mustangs built upon its lead with two runs in the seventh. Alex Biron kicked things off with a single, bringing home Kyle Moore. That was followed up by Mike Muise's single, plating Biron.
With the win, CM advanced to the YSCC Fall Invitational Championship vs. Southern Maine CC (separate recap to follow).
