Mustangs sweep Dartmouth in NECBA opener

Auburn, ME - The Mustangs kicked off the NECBA portion of their schedule with a sweep of Darmouth College Club under sunny skies in Auburn on Sunday afternoon. 

In game 1, CM jumped out to an 8-0 lead after an inning of play and went on to a 13-8 victory. After three straight walks to start the bottom of the 1st, Caleb Valliere had a two run double that played Jimmy Reed and Hunter Warren. Cody Allen followed that up with a two run single of his own. 

Valliere and Reid Cote both had doubles and three RBI each to lead the Mustangs. 

Will Bean pitched 4 innings, striking out seven. Wyatt Lufkin came in for the final nine outs to record the win. Mustang pitching only gave up one earned run in game 1. 

In game 2, Jimmy Reed led things off in the bottom of the first with a solo homerun. 

CM took advantage of hits from Reed, Cody Allen, Pete McCluskey, Corey Armstrong and Dennis Amore to muster five runs to secure the 5-1 victory. 

Caleb Valliere threw six innings allowing two hits and striking out eight. Rhen Trinidade came in and pitched a scoreless seventh. 

CM improves to 7-2 on the season.
