Auburn, ME - Mustangs sweep visiting Lynx in a beautiful fall day!!
Game 1
Reid Cote's RBI single in the first inning proved to be the game winner in game one of a doubleheader. The Mustangs took advantage of a couple walks to score four runs in the first inning. Jimmy Reed had three hits in the game including a triple. Cote also had a multiple hit game.
Cole Brown started on the mound and had eight strikeouts. Rhen Trinidade came in relief and recorded the last ten outs to pick up the win.
Game 2
Game 2 ended in thrilling fashion as the Mustangs walked off with the win in the bottom of the 7th. Kenyon Pillsbury grounded out to second base and a throwing error allowed Corey Armstrong to score the game winner.
Caleb Valliere had two triples in the game to power the Mustang offense. He also came in relief late in the game to earn the win.
Valliere and Reed had multiple hits in the game. The Mustangs improve their overall record to 5-2.
Coach Palmer adds: Although im happy with getting two wins, this team is far from where it needs to be. Pitchers need to throw strikes more consistently, our hitters need to get their bunts down and our defense needs to improve. Looking forward to five games next week.
