CM steals win from Thomas

Auburn, ME - The Central Maine Mustangs stole the lead late in the game in a 6-4 victory over Thomas College on Wednesday.

Trailing 2-0, Corey Armstrong had a RBI single that plated Stefan Lesco. The ball got by the left fielder allowing Caden Truman to also score. Armstrong ended up at third on the play. 

With the score tied 2-2, Armstrong strikes again in the bottom of the 6th with a two run double that scored Jake Arel and Lesco. Truman then scored on a botched suicide squeeze attempt that was mishandled by the catcher. With one out Hunter Warren flew out to right field plating Armstrong on the sacrifice fly.

Caleb Valliere started on the mound pitching the first five innings giving up two runs on eight hits while striking out five. Warren was credited with the win with four innings in relief. He gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits. 

"We got good pitching and timely hitting today which was nice to see" said head coach Ryan Palmer. "Thomas used a different pitcher every inning and thats not easy to adjust too. I'm proud of our guys for grinding out a big win"

The Mustangs improve to 2-2 this spring and 22-8 overall. They are back in action on Sunday with a doubleheader against UNH in Auburn.
