Valliere, Warren throw no hitters

Auburn, ME - Caleb Valliere and Hunter Warren both threw no hitters for the Mustangs in a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon in Auburn against Great Bay CC. The bats also came alive as the Mustangs defeated the Herons 20-0 and 27-0.

In game one, it was all Valliere on the mound and at the plate. Valliere threw five innings of no hit baseball and struck out 12. At the plate he was 4-4 with a homerun, two triples and seven RBI. Stefan Lesco and Reid Cote each homered as well. Corey Armstrong and Jimmy Reed were repeat hitters.

In game two, Hunter Warren threw a no-hitter of his own while striking out 13.

Cole Brown led the offensive attack going 4-4 with a homerun, three runs scored and three RBI. Reed had three hits including a homerun and five RBI. Armstrong joined the party with three hits of his own. Rolando Rodriquez added a HR and five RBI. Cooper Neleski was a repeat hitter.

"I'm very proud of Caleb and Hunter with the way they threw the ball tonight. They threw all of their pitches for strikes and did nothing but pound the zone" said coach Ryan Palmer. "Our offense was clicking on all cylinders and got a lot of production from different players. I give Great Bay a lot of credit for sticking it out and remaining positive through both games."

The Mustangs head to Portsmouth, NH on Friday to take on the Herons once again at 7pm. They host UMPI on Sunday with a doubleheader beginning at 1pm
