Mustangs squeak by Noreasters

Auburn, ME - The Mustangs bats were quiet but came alive late to defeat the Noreasters 4-3 on Wednesday night in Auburn.

Rolando Rodriguez scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh after being hit by a pitch and stealing two bases. Jake Arel led the way with two hits and scored two runs. Stefan Lesco added a double that sparked a two run sixth inning to tie the score. Cooper Neleski, Arel and Rhen Trinidade shared the pitching duties with Trinidade picking up the win pitching three innings of scoreless relief.

"Sometimes you win ugly and that was definitely the case tonight," said head coach Ryan Palmer. "We had no energy and struggled to find offense. We chipped away and barely squeaked by. Rhen did what he does best. Came in relief and gave us a chance."

The Mustangs host CCRI on Friday for a doubleheader with game one starting at 3:00pm.
