Men's Basketball Add Assistant Coach

Brennen Morton makes his coaching debut at CM this year, joining Head Coach Dave Gonyea on the varsity bench.  Morton will also be assisting Coach Steve Cyr on the Men's Basketball JV team.

Originally from Chepachet, Rhode Island, Coach Morton played two years at CM before transferring to the University of Maine at Presque Isle where he graduated Summa Cum laude, earning a 3.92 GPA and Phi Beta Kappa in 2011.  He was an Academic All-American all four years in college.

In high school, Morton scored 1,200 career points in three years at Our Lady of Fatima High School, located in Warren, RI.  Morton was a three time All-Conference player, a two time Academic All-American, captain of his team for three years, and averaged 17.8 points per game.

At CM, Morton was an outstanding shooter and possessed a high basketball IQ.  He worked clinics, camps and individual teaching sessions with a variety of younger players, instructing them on the art of shooting.

His contributions will not only be on the sidelines but will be utilized for his recruiting abilities especially in his home state of Rhode Island and throughout Southern New England.  He will also be in charge of scouting.

Coach Gonyea is very pleased Brennen has chosen to come home, "Our alumni tend to be our biggest supporters and best recruiters." Gonyea says, "Brennen will bring many talents to our program."

While at coaching at CM, Brennen will be working on his Master's Degree in Sports Psychology at Capelle University.
