Mustangs Sweep in Vermont

Mustangs Sweep in Vermont

Plagued by foul trouble in the first half, the Mustangs often found themselves trailing by a few buckets to the Knights of VTC.  It took CM almost the entire 40-minutes to finally pull away from VTC on the road tonight 97-91.

Down 49-45 at the half, the Mustangs fell into a deeper hole, falling behind 73-62 at the 10-minute mark in the second half.  The constant ball pressure and a slick half-court trap defense turned the tide and CM took their first lead of the half, and the lead for good, with 4:33 on the clock.

For the 2nd straight day, Luis Medina led CM scoring 20 points, pulling down 8 rebounds, and dishing out 8 assists.  Kazre Cumming and Carrington Miller chipped in with 13 and 11 points respectively, and Shaun Hill capped off a solid weekend with 12 points of his own.

VTC's Jamal Hughes finished the game with 40 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists to lead the Knights.

With the win the Mustangs improve their record to 8-0 and 3-0 in the YSCC.  CM will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel UMaine-Augusta to take on the Moose.
