Conventional wisdom would say a team coming off an emotional win over their rival would have its struggles to play again just 48 hours later on the road. So much for conventional wisdom…. CM ramped it up in the second half against the Golden Eagles of Eastern Maine Community College coming away with a 117-86 victory.
Once again, CM received contributions from multiple players as 13 different Mustangs found the scoring column. Xavier Colbert had a coming out party of sorts and knocked down 21 points. Kazre Cummings had his normal double-double game, hitting 19 points and 11 rebounds. Luis Medina added 15 points and Tim Flanagan had 12 points.
The Golden Eagles were somewhat successful in the first half against pressure keeping the game close at halftime by a 56-42 margin. However, the Mustang depth and pressure was too much and CM left Bangor with a 117-86 win.
By winning the final game of the first semester, the Mustangs go into Christmas break with an unblemished record of 14-0 overall and 9-0 in the YSCC. CM will not be back in action until January 10th when they host John Abbott College.
