Mustangs Thrash UMPI

The Mustangs hit the floor running tonight with a 126-71 thrashing of the University of Maine at Presque Isle.  A steady stream of full-court pressure and timely shooting propelled CM to a 64-38 half time advantage. 

After only playing one game the past four weeks, the Mustangs were revved up and ready to play from the opening tip.   Floor leader Luis Medina (Hartford, CT) secured a double-double by dishing out 10 of his 13 assists in the first half.  The home team's defensive pressure caused numerous turnovers and led to double-digit steals.  

On the offensive end, CM shot 65% in the first half alone.  They finished the game shooting 51%.  CM also dominated recording 31 assists, and 20 steals.

Thirteen Mustangs hit the scoring column with Shaun Hill leading the charge with 20 points, Medina had 18 points, Tim Flanagan bagged 13 points.   In all six Mustangs hit for double figures.

With the win, CM increases their record to 16-0 on the season, and will be back in action tomorrow when they hsot the Winter Ravens in an exhibition game.
