Mustangs Drop Fighting Saints

Mustangs Drop Fighting Saints

CM opened up second semester action tonight as the College of St Joes (VT) visited Kirk Hall for the first game of the semester.  Travel may have taken a bite of the Fighting Saints as CM came away with a 112-92 win.

The game stayed near even for the first 12 minutes until the depth of CM kicked in leading the Mustangs on a 14-4 run to enter halftime up 57-42.  A slow second half allowed the lead to shrink to 12 points before the Mustangs put the petal to the medal and increased the lead to 26.

Despite a foul plagued game, the Fighting Saints shot 51 FT's, while the Mustangs shot 48 pf their own.  CM was able to wear down the travel weary CSJ squad and throw waves of fresh players at them to finish out the game.

Carrington Miller came off the bench to lead CM with 20 points, Kazre Cummings added 17 points, and Luis Medina finished with 16 points and 6 assists.

With the win the Mustangs improve to 17-0 overall.  CM hosts NJCAA DII powerhouse and #1 Dean College in a matchup of unbeaten teams.
