Mustangs Strike Again in Maryland

Tyler White, a 2013 graduate of Perry Hall High School (Baltimore, MD) has committed to attend and play basketball at Central Maine next year.  As the school leader in career assists at Perry Hall, Tyler battled through many challenges in high school playing with a variety of kids his four years.  He was the team's distributor and ball handler.  He was voted his team MVP his senior year and represented his school being selected to the 2013 All-County Team and was selected to the All-District Team in the 2013 tournament.  He is the proud son of Myrtis Pope and Bernard White.  Tyler plans on studying Sports Management at CM.

According to Tyler:
"The reason why I chose Central Maine is because from the start to finish I felt loved and it was a great atmosphere that just stuck with me.  Taking the tour around campus and around the town it felt like the best fit for me.  Another reason why I chose to come to Central Maine is because Coach Gonyea made me feel right at home.  I felt as if I were a family member.  I also loved the style of play at Central Maine, especially the full court press that is very dominating."

According to Head Men's Basketball Coach, Dave Gonyea:
"Tyler is a respectful young man who obviously comes from a caring home with strong family support system.  The way he carries himself, his manners and respect for others shines through.  He is truly a wholesome, quality kid we want representing our program.  On the court he handles the ball very well and has a consistent shot he can hit from both sides of the arc.  He plays well with his teammates as evidenced by leading his high school team with over 750 career assists.  His style of play will fit nicely into our system."

He was referred to CM by fellow Marylander, Breyon Graves, who will be donning the red and white next season!
