Mustangs corral Texan Center

Auburn, ME - Central Maine Community College Head Men's Basketball Coach Dave Gonyea is pleased to announce Jonathan Moore, a 6'6" center from Beaumont, TX has signed on to play for the Mustangs next season.  Moore, a 2015 graduate of Bridge City High School brings with him an impressive resume.  He was first team all-district, South East Texas "Best Center" finalist, and averaged 12.4 ppg, 10 rpg, and 1.7 blocks per game. He was also a Southeast Texas all-star.

Off the court Jonathan was a member of the National Honor Society and an Eagle Scout.

Jonathan and his family, dad Doug, mom Marilyn, and brother Benjamin visited Maine for the first time last week and were taken back by the states beauty and kind people.  Quoting Jonathan, "CM has a great environment and has a beautiful campus.  It has nice buildings and a great view of the lake.  I think playing at this level will be a challenge.  My strengths have always been my size, mobility around the hoop and I work hard defensively.  I am also looking forward to meeting my new teammates and getting to know the local people."

Coach Gonyea is very excited about adding Moore, "After over 20 years of coaching at CM, I am always comparing incoming players to past players.  Jonathan so much reminds me of former CM great, Chris Brackett!  He is long, athletic, and gets up.  He comes from a tight knit family unit which translates into a total team player."
