Wyverns slip by Mustangs

Worcester, MA - After arriving late to the game after a long 3-hour bus ride, the Mustangs' legs could not keep pace in the second half as CM dropped a 93-86 contest to Quinsigamond Community College tonight.

However, it was hot shooting by the Wyverns that put the visitors away.  Daequon Antonie, Jeffery Moore, and Akeem Beinavis combined to knock down 17 three's hitting for 51 of the total 93 points scored!

Failing to score for the first five minutes of the game, CM managed to survive the first half taking a 44-40 lead to the locker room.  Quinsigamond jumped out to an 8 point lead midway through the half and took that lead into the final 8 minutes.   Back to back 3's by Antonie increased the lead to double digits.

The Mustangs were down by 15 points with five minutes left in the game.  Led by captain Rob Skinner, the boys stormed back with Elijah Barbour hitting consecutive three's to reduce lead to 4 points.  However, more Antonie free throws in the last minute put the nail in the coffin.

Barbour (Reston, VA) led the Mustangs with 21 points in a 7-15 shooting performance.  Pietro Badalassi (Canberra, Australia) added 15 points on a 7-9 shooting night with 5 rebounds.  Raikwon Rodrigues (Providence, RI) was a beast in the boards registering 15 points and 5 rebounds.
