Mustangs Fall in Game One of the Can Am Tournament

Auburn, ME - Early season jitters and costly fouls put CM in the unfamiliar position of playing catch-up as the University of New Brunswick St John beat the Mustangs 85-78 in the first game of the Can-Am Basketball Tournament. The Mustangs jumped out front by a 24-12 margin in the first half but couldn't hold on going to the locker room at the half behind by five points. The Sea Wolves shot 57% in the second half to take off at the eight-minute mark leading 68-55.

The Mustangs applied full court pressure all game attempting to wear down the visitors but couldn't keep the Sea Wolves from the charity stripe where the shot 29 for 46 free throws. 

CM was led by Pietro Badalassi who hit for 16 points and ripped down 13 rebounds. Rob Skinner added led the team with 20 points.

CM hosts St Thomas University Sunday at 4pm.
