Mustangs Capture First Win of the Season

Auburn, ME- Rob Skinner hit for 16 points and dished out 9 assists today as CM captured their first win of the season beating St Thomas University 81-63.

Behind full court pressure, CM jumped out to a comfortable 19-4 lead in the first six minutes of the game. Running fresh bodies in and out the first half propelled the Mustangs to a 40-23 lead into halftime.

The tired Tommie's wouldn't quit. They cut the lead to eleven points at the 14-minute mark of the second half. At CM timeout stopped the run and the Mustangs jumped back out to a twenty-point lead. The game finished that way with contributions up and down the bench.

Georgia star Cornelius Lawhorn shot 9-10 with three thunderous dunks to bring the house down enroute to a 19-point performance. Sheveran Hardy played a solid game for CM shooting 5-10 scoring 12 points in 16 minutes. Pietro Badalassi chipped in with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals.

The Mustangs have a week to prepare for the SMCC invitational tournament at South Portland next weekend.
