Mustangs Thump Knights

Auburn, ME – Pietro Badalassi led a balanced attack today as the Mustangs took down conference foe Vermont Tech by a 99-76 margin at Kirk Hall. This was the second game in two days for the Knights and CM took advantage early maintaining constant full court pressure for 40 minutes. A tired VTC went to the locker room down 45-42 at the half. CM used 15 players throughout the game attempting to wear down the visitors.

The second half was all CM. On the Defensive end, the home team rotated fresh players to apply full court pressure to continuously pin the Knights down in their own zone. After two Nick Bagley's treys, (14-minute mark) the Mustangs went on a 35-7 run to extend the lead to 20 points.

Badalassi led the Mustangs with his 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists. Captain Rob Skinner played his normal steady game contributing 16 points, with 7 rebounds, and 5 steals. Akeem Laurie came off the bench to knock down 17 points shooting 4-9 from the field and 6-6 from the free throw line.

CM improves its record to 5-1 and faces another conference foe on Thursday when they travel to the University of Maine at Augusta to face the Moose.  Game time is 8pm at the Augusta Civic Center.
