Presque Isle, ME- Kevin Collins led the Owls of Presque Isle to a 54-52 win over the visiting Mustangs Wednesday in a tight back and forth contest. Collins finished with a game high 17 points and 9 rebounds.

In a game where the lead was tied or changed hands 16 different times, the Mustangs had every opportunity to move the score forward. The biggest lead was 7 points early in the game by UMPI but did not hold. CM fought back to go into halftime down 25-24.

CM changed tactics and played a zone most of the game. It checked the Owls- limiting their open looks and follow up shots. CM out rebounded the home team 44-32 and limited second chances.

The second half proved as competitive as the first half with constant lead changes and tight defense by both teams limiting scoring opportunities. A Pietro Badalassi layup and one (17:23) brought the visitors within one point but UMPI came right back with an and one of their own.

Badalassi led the Mustangs with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Cam Duncan came off the bench to play his best game this year hitting for 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals.

CM host the College of St Joe's Sunday at Kirk Hall for a 2pm matchup.
