Mustangs Run Over Saints 70-59

Auburn, ME – Josh Cote came out of his shooting slump today leading the Mustangs to a 70-59 win over visiting College of St Joe's in Auburn. Cote drained 8-11 shooting and collected 5 rebounds.

CM jumped out to a 19-6 lead in the first 6 minutes of the game. Tight, full court and half court pressure enabled the Mustangs to control the tempo and pace of the first half. With big man Pietro Badalassi controlling the glass, CM took a double digit lead into halftime 43-29.

With its first possession of the second half,  Coach Blais choreographed a play for high flying Levi Lapham to bring the crowd to its feet with a thunderous dunk.

The second half was more of the same. CM jumped all over the visiting guards with constant ball pressure resulting in 26 Saint turnovers.

Badalassi finished the game with a double double—13 points, and 12 rebounds and added 3 assists to the mix. Floor leader Rob Skinner dished out 8 assists, ripped down 9 rebounds and hit for 7 points in a very unselfish effort. Kaleb Benjamin chipped in with 9 points. Kionno Nelson came off the bench to register 9 points in a solid effort.

CM is back in action Tuesday when they host Bridgton Academy at 6pm at Kirk Hall.
