Badalassi leads Mustangs past Bobcats

Auburn, ME - Despite hitting for 17 threes and shooting 58% for the game at the arc, Paul Smith College came up on the short end today as the Mustangs poured it on down the stretch to defeat the Bobcats 94-82 in Yankee Conference play.

CM managed to build a 14-point cushion in the first half but couldn't stop the Bobcat shooters. Paul Smith crept back into the game and trailed at halftime 51-42.

The Mustangs took off again the second half leading by 5-12 points most of the half. However, with six minutes left in the game, an Elijah Pettis three tied the contest 70-70. The home team continued to mix up their full court and half court pressure taking tempo back and slowly build up the lead until the end.

Pietro Badalassi led the Mustangs with 25 points, 11 rebounds and threw 4 assists out to his teammates. Jonathan Moore came off the bench and played some huge minutes hitting 5-8 shots to score 10 points and registered 5 rebounds.

The win moves the Mustangs to a 9-4 record with rival SMCC coming to Kirk Hall Wednesday for a 8pm game.
