Auburn, ME- Central Maine Community College Head Men's Basketball Coach Dave Gonyea is pleased to announce the commitment of Cody Tozier, a 2017 senior at Lincoln Academy, for the fall class of 2017. Tozier, a 6'4" forward has enjoyed a sterling high school career. He was named Class B second team all-conference his sophomore year, Class B first team all-conference his junior year, and Class B first team all-conference his senior year. In his senior year, he also was the team's most valuable player and scored his 1000th point.
According to Coach Gonyea, "Cody has been on our radar for the past four years. Lincoln Academy has a history of putting out not only great basketball players, but quality young men as well. He will follow in the footsteps of former Damariscotta native and CM great, Jalen Lincoln. He has been well coached the past few years beginning with Coach McKinney and recently with Coach Ball. I have watched his game improve and think he is perfect for the system we employ. He plays big, gets to the basket and will only get bigger and stronger in our program. I can't wait to get him in the weight room to increase his size. This is a great pick-up for our program."
Cody's remarks: One of the main reasons I choose CM is because of how affordable the school is per year. The location in the Lewiston/Auburn area is also relatively close to home where my grandparents, parents, and my brother and sister can come visit and watch my games. Coach Gonyea is a great coach that I have come to know over the past three years and could not wait to-- hopefully-play for him after this year. CM runs a run and gun offense that I think I could come to like very much. Another major factor in my decision to attend CM is the Business Management Program. This program will help me in learning how to run my dad's business after college or when he retires. I am really looking forward to new things I will see next year at CM and cannot wait until the journey begins."
