Duncan's Return Sparks CM to Victory

Auburn, ME – The game is forty minutes long.  It took all forty minutes for the Mustangs to finally put away the visiting Knights of Vermont Tech by a 74-67 score today in cozy Kirk Hall.

With the score going back and forth the entire first half, it appeared this one was going to go to the end to determine a winner.  CM used full court pressure the entire game in an attempt to wear down the Knights.  This was the second game in two days for VTC and the Mustangs wanted to take advantage of their fatigue.   Eleven Mustangs played over 10 minutes in the contest as CM continued to throw fresh bodies on the court to maintain full court pressure.  CM went up by 6 points at the 34-minute mark and did not look back.

CM went to the locker room up by one 30-29 at the half.  Following up Friday night's performance of 17 threes, CM managed to knock down 13 more today.    However, the game was won at the free throw line as the home team hit 13-15 with four of those coming in the last minute of play.

The game marked the return of Aussie Cam Duncan, sidelined for the past 3 weeks with flu like symptoms.  Cam played only 13 minutes and went 2-4 shooting for 8 points-- but his court leadership has been sorely missed and he returned in vengeance today!

Three Mustangs hit for eleven points: Cody Tozier, Charles Cedre, and Corey DavidJosh Chery again owned the boards ripping down seven rebounds.

The Mustangs travel to the Augusta Civic Center Wednesday (8pm) to play the UMA Moose in a Yankee conference game.
