Mustangs Run by Moose 112-100

Auburn, ME – Akeem Laurie led the Mustangs with 26 points tonight leading CM to a 112-100 shootout win at Kirk Hall.   A balanced scoring attack featured five players in double figures.  Behind Laurie's 26 points, Rodney Theodore and Josh Chery hit for 14 points, Charles Cedre had 11 points, and Malik Farley added 10 points.

In a game that was coast-to-coast and little attention paid to defense, CM used its entire bench to run the Moose.  After a quick six point CM lead into the game, things settled down and both teams traded baskets for most of the first half with the Moose taking a 49-48 lead into halftime.

A wake up call at halftime sparked the Mustangs going into the third period.  Constant full court pressure by fourteen Mustangs simply overwhelmed the visitors.  At the 34-minute mark, the Mustangs started taking off behind some good defensive play and key shots.

Big man Josh Chery ripped down eight rebounds to go with his 14 points.

The win improves the Mustangs to 14-3 overall and 10-2 in the Yankee Conference.   Conference opponent Unity College invades Kirk Hall Thursday for a 6pm battle.
