Mustangs Slide by Rams on the Road 88-86

Unity, ME – Cody Tozier put in a turnaround layup/bank shot with seven seconds left in regulation tonight to lead the Mustangs to a 88-86 win over the Unity Rams.

In its worst performance of the year thus far, the Mustangs found themselves in the hole in the first half trailing by one point 46-45.  Shots didn't fall, fouls were a many, injuries popped up, and CM simply could not gain any traction.  For the Mustangs, it was just a lethargic effort.   On the contrary, the Rams hit what seemed every shot, and when missed- seemed to gather every rebound.  Coach Witts had an excellent game plan and keep his team in the game right down to the last shot.

CM managed to hit five three's in the last three minutes, two by Rodney Theodore, two by Kionno Nelson,  and one by Elijah Barbour before Tozier iced the game.

Coach Gonyea wasn't pleased, "I told Coach Witt after the game- they out played us, out coached us, and did everything but win.  We simply couldn't get going.  I will take a lot of the hit on this one as we needed a better game plan and I didn't deliver."

Kionno Nelson played his best game thus far this year hitting for 15 points.

The Mustangs have time to regroup until Wednesday when rival NHTI visits Kirk hall for a 6pm tilt.
