Mustangs Score With Bosnakis

Auburn, ME – Head Men's Basketball Coach, Dave Gonyea, is pleased to announce James Bosnakis, a 6'6" wing player from Perth, Australia has joined the Mustangs for the 2019 campaign. Bosnakis graduated from Wanneroo Secondary College in 2017 and recently spent some time playing in Argentina.

According to Coach Gonyea, "Throughout the recruiting process I speak to dozens of kids. I really like this young man. Since our first conversation, I have been impressed with the manner he handles himself, his maturity, his dedication to the game, how he takes care of his body, and most importantly, his willingness to whatever he has do to come to America to play ball. We now speak almost daily and I look forward each call to learn more about him. I can tell you, many scholarship schools missed this guy, which translates to our gain. I will be shocked if he is not recruited from CM to move to a much higher level."

He continued, "James reminds me of a kid we had here years ago, Chris Brackett.  Chris was a stud performer on and off the court, and when I see James play, and listen to him speak; I am more convinced he is reincarnation of Chris. In addition, Chris was, and is, a fabulous person! I cannot wait to coach him!"

James answered the following:

CM:  Why did you choose CM?
James: Coach Gonyea

CM: How do you think playing college basketball will differ from your previous experience?
James: I have played state league in Perth, played D league in Argentina, and have been a development player for top league Argentina.  Although the type of play and physicality will still be a shock, I believe it will be nothing I haven't seen before.

CM:  What are you most looking forward to about attending and playing at CM?
James: Not only studying the courses I want, but also joining the basketball team and joining a family and making life friendships.

CM: What do you think you can bring to the team next year?
James: Leadership, work ethic, hustle, a culture on and off the court.

CM: What is your biggest strength in basketball?
James: Driving and finishing above the ring is something I like to do.  My 3pt shot makes defenders need to play me up on the 3pt line and never leave me open to shoot.  My hustle and on ball defense make me a nightmare to match up.
