Mustangs Capture Win Over Roxbury 80-56

Auburn, ME – Mark McDonald and Nicoas Dieynck combined for 34 points Sunday to lead the Mustangs to a 80-56 thumping of the Tigers from Roxbury Community College.   The game was the second game of the 25th annual Can Am basketball tournament.

Playing their second game in two days, CM started a bit slow coming out of the gate.  Continuous personnel changes dominated the first half with sixteen Mustangs hitting the floor.  McDonald hit six of his three's in the first half providing the home the cushion they needed.

The Mustangs went to the locker room with a comfortable 39-16 Half time lead.

The second half was more of the same.  Rotating players in and out, know Mustang played more than sixteen minutes in the contest.

In the rebounding front, Khalid Ibn collected 7 rebounds and hit for 7 points.

Head Coach Dave Gonyea states,"we lost some emotion from yesterday but our shooters came to play tonight to tlp the balance.  Playing everybody is a challenge but we were all pleased all our players got sometime.  Contributions came up and down the lineup."

CM goes to 2-0 on the young season and prepares for next weekend's road trip to Concord, New Hampshire to participate in the Edward Jones tip off tournament.
