Mustangs Advance to YSCC Final Four

Auburn, ME – Keagan Pitcher and Boston Caldwell combined for nine threes Sunday afternoon to lead the Mustangs to a convincing 84-56 win over Albany College of Pharmacy in the pre-lim of the Yankee Conference tournament.

CM jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the opening frame and poured it on all half, taking a 49-25 lead into the locker room at halftime.  Not playing a game in a week provided more incentive and energy for the home team.

Albany came in as the #8 seed and the Mustangs the #1 seed.

Along with Caldwell's 20 points, he also hauled down 4 rebounds and contributed 4 assists.  The squad combined for 25 total assists.

Coach Gonyea stated, "This was a good test for us. We watched two upsets occur yesterday and didn't want any part of that to bleed into our game. Our goal was to get out early and dominate on both ends of the court. I was pleased with the total team effort. I was especially happy for Keagan as this is his last year playing college basketball and no kid deserves the lime light one last time more than Keagan."

The Mustangs move on to the final four playing #4 SMCC next Saturday at 6pm in Kirk Hall.
