Philadelphia, PA - Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach, Kevin Cady, has been named as an equipment manager by Philadelphia Flyers Alumni President Brad Marsh for the epic event.
In honor of the 50th anniversaries of the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins, alumni legends from six Stanley Cup teams will renew their rivalry in a special, cross-state contest on January 14, 2017 at 7 p.m. at the 19,500 seat Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The game is expected to be a sellout.
This official alumni game will feature representation from every era of Flyers Hockey. Flyers and Penguins fans will get to see the return of some of the most popular players in their respective franchise history, as well as the debut of first-time alumni players.
"This game is a celebration of the past 50 years of Flyers Hockey," said Brad Marsh. "To bring five decades' worth of players, staff, and fans together to share in the one thing we all have in common – fiercely representing the orange and black – that's not something that happens every day." "Kev is one of those guys behind the scenes and with us on the bench that we considered like a little brother," said Marsh about Coach Cady. Brad Marsh played 1086 NHL games for the Atlanta Flames, Calgary Flames, Philadelphia Flyers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, Ottawa Senators.
Others Mainers likely to participate are Former Flyer stand-outs Len Hachborn and Eric Weinrich.
Cady worked in the Flyers organization from 1977 to 1986 as an equipment manager with both the AHL Maine Mariners and the NHL Flyers. He also worked later in the Buffalo Sabres organization as equipment manager with the AHL Portland Pirates from 2009 to 2011.

The Flyers-Penguins alumni game is presented by AAA.
Game time will be at 7 p.m. EST.
Proceeds from the game will benefit the charitable and community-based works of the Flyers Alumni Association and Flyers Charities.
