Hockey drops season opener

Hockey drops season opener

Manchester, NH - The Central Maine Mustangs hockey program was defeated in its season opener to a very solid St. Anselm team, 7-2.  Despite a strong start to the first period, the Mustangs came up on the short end.  Goaltender Kenny Miller had 40 saves in the game, with a very strong showing in net.  Collin Sheehan and Jordan Eurenius each had a goal and an assist.  Jordy Knoren and Alex Barone each contributed an assist as well.

According to Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach, Matt Poulin "I was pleased with the way we came out and established our forecheck, and now we just have to be consistent. We have a great group of guys and as we continue to fine tune our game things will fall into place. St. Anselm came out strong and played with a great physical intensity, and now we know what we need to work on to get better every day.  I look forward to getting back on the ice Tuesday and planning for Dartmouth next week."

The Central Maine Mustangs hockey team hits the road next Friday, October 13 to take on Dartmouth College at Thompson Arena. The puck drop is 7:30 PM EST.
