Late Scoring Outburst pushes Mass Maritime past CM

Auburn, ME - Despite hanging on early in the game, the Central Maine Mustangs hockey team fell to Mass Maritime Sunday, 10-1.  Although being short five players on the night, the Mustangs hockey team came out flying, including scoring the first goal of the game.  After a strong first period and start to the second, the Mustangs lost the momentum as Mass Maritime took over and did not look back.  Mass Maritime responded with ten unanswered goals on the night sealing the win.

Charles Campagna had the lone tally on the night for Central Maine.  Jordy Knoren added an assist on the play. Joshua Ehiboro played the full 60 minutes in between the pipes.

Head Coach, Matt Poulin, had this to add after the game, "Going into it we knew it was going to be a battle.  We were short five of our guys so we had a short bench and to add it being our third game in as many days.  Our focus was to take it shift by shift and work to win every small battle. Mass Maritime was an extremely good team; fast, physical, moved the puck well, and controlled the possession.  I was extremely proud of our guys for battling for 60 minutes and giving it everything they had.  We take this weekend as a learning experience for us and get back to work on Tuesday."

The Mustangs hockey team hits the road Saturday night vs Suffolk University at Larsen Rink in Winthrop, MA at 8:00pm and return home Sunday vs Husson University at 4:00pm.
