Hockey adds to recruiting class

Auburn, ME - Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach, Matt Buotte, is pleased to announce the commitment of forward Eli McCarty for the 2018-2019 season.

Eli was born and raised in Fredericton, New Brunswick before playing the majority of his hockey in Wisconsin. After playing his AAA hockey for Bucks and Team Wisconsin, McCarty split his high school career between Eau Claire North High School and Eau Claire Memorial High School.

"Eli brings us a lot to the table," said Buotte. "He is a big, strong kid who will go to the front of the net. He's a smart, mature player that we are excited to be bringing into our room."

McCarty feels that he can add to an already potent Mustangs offense.

"I feel I can bring intelligence and speed to the offensive unit," said McCarty. "[I feel that I can help us] score more team goals and, ultimately, more wins."

McCarty said that he felt Central Maine was the perfect blend of athletics and academics he was looking for.

"I chose Central Maine because I'm looking forward to combining academics and athletics," he continued. "It will give me the best college experience possible and set me up best for my career in the future."
