Mustangs fall to SMCC

South Portland, ME - Although evenly matched throughout most of the game, CMCC lost focus in the 77th minute allowing sophomore Hanssen Casey (Eliot, Maine) to pick up a loose ball in the box and net it. Less than 2 minutes later some confusion in the box first-year Syohga Cusumano (Okinawa, Japan) headed a Ball towards goal deflecting off a defender and finding the net.

The Mustangs weren't done yet, four minutes left in the game CMCC's Kenneth Ball shoots a screamer past SMCC's Camden Labrecque (Saco, Maine) finding the net. Unfortunately the Mustangs newly gained momentum would not show any success and the game ended making it CMCC's first lost this season.

In a post game interview Assistant Coach, Brandon Morissette said, "It's a tough loss, but playing SMCC is always a difficult game and we saw some good things out there today. We'll touch upon the specifics that needs work in practice tomorrow."

CM is now 2-1 in the conference and are on the road again this Saturday, September 15th against Hampshire College.
