Auburn, ME - The Mustangs hosted the Rams of Unity College in their third conference game in four days on Tuesday afternoon. The rain held off, but the game was physical and didn't lack excitement.
With four minutes remaining in the first half Brian Mendez (New HAven, CT) collected a nicely flicked ball from Kenneth Ball (Lewiston, ME) to put CMCC up 1-0. That score held for the rest of the game, with both sides having a several opportunities. Both teams played physically in the midfield and team captain Cody Dolloff (Peru, ME), Guerby Dorvil (Delray Beach, FL) and Julian Clements (Greene, ME) played well for CM.
Dalton Wing (Lewiston, ME) collected two saves in the shutout while Unity goalkeeper Sam Napper was outstanding with ten saves.
CM closes out their conference games at home Saturday against NHTI in a matchup of two of the top teams in the YSCC. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:00pm.
