Men's Soccer falls to NECC

Auburn, ME - Sunday morning saw the CM Mustangs hosting their second match of the weekend. This time they faced Northern Essex Community College. CM controlled play the majority of the first 25 minutes but in the 27th minute Daniel Pierre-Louis collected a ball that came down the left side to give Northern Essex the lead. That score would hold through halftime.

The Mustangs had a number of opportunities in the second half but Northern Essex put the game away in the 87th minutes when Nico Dyer stole a pass in the back to put them up 2-0.

Austin Wing had three saves in goal for CM, while Anthony Bellomo saved all eight shots he faced for Northern Essex Community College.

After the game, first-year assistant coach Zach Lowe said, "Nobody expects to lose a game when you've had so much possession and control. We learned some valuable lessons from today, hopefully we can build on them for our next conference game."

The next conference game will be held at CMCC when both teams will host Unity College on Wednesday. The women will play at 6:30pm, and the men will play at 8:30pm.
