Softball adds second 2019 recruit

Auburn, ME – Head Softball Coach, Bruce Robertson is pleased to announce they have landed their second commitment for the 2019 Season. Molly Flaherty (Sabattus, ME), from Oak Hill High School has committed to play for the Mustangs in the fall.

After touring CM Molly stated, "I chose CM because it's close to home and the campus is like a tight knit community. CM offers a multiple broad science courses which I am interested in."

Molly will be enrolling in General Studies with a focus on Life Sciences.

Oak Hill Softball Coach, Allyson Collins, commented, "Molly is an extremely committed player that has worked hard to improve each part of her game over the past four years. In her Junior year she batted .391 with an OBP of .439 while only striking out four times in 46 at bats. This landed her honorable mention in the Mountain Valley Conference. Molly stays strong under pressure and even seems to thrive when put into pivotal situations."

The hard work has been paying off for Molly who plays softball year-round. In 2018 her high school team reached the Class B Quarter Finals while her summer team won the Maine ASA/USA 16U State Tournament.

According to Coach Robertson, "I am Very Pleased that Molly has decided to come to CM. I have been watching Molly play for the past couple years in both high school and summer. Molly has improved her game at both pitching and hitting." She has the never give up attitude which makes her a perfect fit as a Mustang.

On her commitment to Central Maine, Molly mentioned, "I feel the biggest change for me and college softball is that I will face new challenges both in and out of state. I have been working on multiple pitches which I hope will help me at the college level. I am excited to start a new beginning with my new softball family."
