Mustangs drop pair to Seawolves

South Portland, ME - The CM Mustangs softball team traveled to South Portland to battle the Seawolves of Southern Maine Community College on a beautiful Spring day.

Game 1: L, 11-3 (5 innings)

Megan Theriault (Lewiston, Maine) started in the circle in an effort to keep SMCC at bay. Therriault struggled for the first inning giving up 4 runs but settled down the rest of the game while giving up eleven runs for the game. She had zero strikeouts and only two walks but gave up 14 hits. 

Ali Sult (Lisbon, ME) and Cagney O' Brien (Newcastle, ME) each recorded a double while O' Brien was the only Mustang with multiple hits adding a single and an RBI. While Alex Bessy (Jay, ME) added a single as well.

Game 2: L, 12-3 (5 innings)

Coach Robertson turned back to Theriault to start in game two. Theriault picked up where she left off in game one striking out 4 and only allowing two walks. 12 runs were on Theriaults watch, but only four were earned due to the Mustangs committing 6 errors allowing SM to pull away for another victory.

The Mustangs did have eight hits in the loss with Tabbie Tlumac (Readfield, ME) and Stephanie Jones (Wiscasset, ME) each collecting 2 while Theriault, Sult, Alex Bessey (Jay, ME), and Sierra Wallace (Phippsburg, ME) each collecting a hit. O'Brien, Sult and Theriault each recorded an RBI.
