Softball adds to 2019 recruiting class with a transfer

Auburn, ME - Head Softball Coach, Bruce Robertson, is pleased to announce UNE Transfer and former Oak Hill standout, Kiera Young, has committed to attend and play softball for the Mustangs in 2019.

Kiera stated, "When touring CM, I feel CM was a small yet larger feel school that was easy to get around. CM allows me to get a great education at an affordable price. Softball is my passion! I am excited to have the opportunity to play with a great group of players who want to be successful. Playing softball will allow me to work on my time management while allowing me to be part of a close-knit team that consists of players who want to be here. I feel I can help bring knowledge of the game. I am a person who strives to make others better while pushing myself to be better."

Oak Hill Coach, Allison Collins, commented, "Kiera is a terrific short stop! She has a great arm and quick feet. She also has a good bat as a senior she batted .341 with 11 RBI's and an OBP of .455 while only striking outs 4 times. Kiera is also smart on the base paths as she added 12 stolen bases to her senior career. Kiera will make a great addition to the Mustangs roster. CM is very lucky to have her"

Coach Robertson added, "We are thrilled Kiera has decided to join us at CM. She was a first team MVC Shortstop her senior year and has been playing year-round softball for many years. It was great to see her continue to play softball her freshman year on the UNE Club Team where she continued her softball skills. I feel Kiera will help make an impact on the team with her drive and passion for the game. During our summer workouts Kiera started as soon as she transferred from UNE. She really stepped up helping and working with the incoming freshman with the workouts by explaining and demonstrating. Kiera is the epitome of a team-first teammate.

Kiera who was an Honor Roll and National Honor Society student at Oak Hill will be enrolled in Life Science Program at CM.
