Three games in 3 days proved to be too much for the Lady Mustangs, as they fell to the Knights of CCRI, 74-50. CCRI had 4 players finish in double figures including Allexia Barros (21 points), Ahnyyah Jackson (19 points), Jesse Ossian (10 points), and Ashley Malloy (15 points).
CM trailed 37-27 at the half, and cut the lead to just 6 early in the 2nd half, but could not get over the hump. The Mustangs shot just 23% from the floor including 1-17 from the 3-point line.
A major bright spot for the Mustangs was sophomore center, Laura Soohey. Soohey finished the game with 19 points and 11 rebounds (both career highs) and battled both 6-foot post players of CCRI. Susie French finished with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 assists t continue her strong start to the 2013-14 season.
CM is back on action in Tuesday when they travel to Unity College (6:00pm) to take on the Rams in their first YSCC matchup of the year.
