The Lady Mustangs were challenged by SMCC for 37 minutes before finally pulling away. Plagued with foul trouble and poor 3-point shooting, the Lady Mustangs had to find a way to win when their pressure defense and depth was put to the test.
CM turned to sophomore standout, Laura Soohey (Bremen, ME), who dominated the paint on both ends of the floor. Soohey turned in a game-high 17 points and 16 rebounds (8 offensive) to go along with her 4 blocks. Susie French (Greenland, NH) and Gabby Foy (Wilton, ME) provided the offense - even when shots weren't falling - both tallied 16 points each.
Jasmine Ramos (Kissimmee, FL) provided a huge defensive spark off the bench and also contributed 8 points.
Danielle McCusker (South Portland, ME) led the Seawolves with 16 points on 7-19 shooting.
With the win CM clinches their second consecutive YSCC regular season championship. Overall, the Lady Mustangs are 22-2 overall and clinched their 2nd straight 14-0 season in the YSCC. CM travels to Concord, NH to take on NHTI for a non-conference game in their regular season finale.
