CMCC Sweeps Player of the Year Honors

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – Central Maine Community College swept Friday afternoon's Player of the Year honors at the annual Yankee Small College Conference Elite Eight Basketball Banquet. Junior Luis Medina (Hartford, Conn.) and sophomore Susie French (Greenland, NH) each received the league's highest honor. CMCC men's and women's basketball teams were also recognized as the YSCC regular season champions, while men's head coach Dave Gonyea was named Coach of the Year. Earlier this season, Gonyea won his 400th game as a head coach.

Southern Maine Community College women's head coach Julia Howe took home Coach of the Year honors on the women's side. Both CMCC and SMCC women's team's have advanced to the Final Four, while the men's tournament begins on Friday afternoon.
