Less than a week after dropping a non-conference road game to the Fighting Saints of CSJ, the Lasy Mustangs hosted them in a pivitol conference home games. Unfortunately for CM, the results were unchanged after a week of preparation. With the loss, CM's 52-game conference win streak, dating back to January of 2012, is snapped.
Despite forcing 40 CSJ turnovers, the Lady Mustangs could not get their shots to fall, shooting just 27% from the floor for the game. A decifit of 14 on the boards, another Regina Steele double-double (17 points, 19 rebounds), and a season high 31 turnovers proved to be too much for CM to overcome.
Gabby Foy (Wilton, ME) led the way for CM with 19 points and 5 rebounds, while Alex Rowe (South Paris, ME) tallied 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals. Hannah Champagne (Lisbon, NH) dished out 5 assists, picked 4 steals, and took 4 offensive fouls.
The Lady Mustangs fall to 11-4 on the year and 7-1 in the YSCC. They will be back in action on Monday night when they host the Owls of UMaine-Presque Isle.
