Lady Mustangs use big first half, ease by UMPI

A 5-hour bus ride did not stop CM from jumping out to an early lead, as they eased past the University of Maine at Presque Isle by a score of 81-60.  Their depth and pressure were too much for the Owls to handle, as the Lady Mustangs jumped out to a 41-20 lead at the half.

Laura Soohey (Bremen, ME) got CM going early on by dominating the paint.  Soohey finished with 18 points, 15 rebounds, and 3 blocks, her third straight double-double.  Gabby Foy (Wilton, ME) tallied 19 points, 13 of which came in the second half, while Alex Rowe (South Paris, ME) came off the bench to score 9 points and pull down 6 rebounds.

Darby Toth led UMPI with 17 points.

With the win the Lady Mustangs improve to 17-4 overall and travel to South Portland, ME on Wednesday to take on Southern Maine Community College.
