Lady Mustangs fall to SMCC

For the first time since December of 2011, the Seawolves of SMCC defeated the Lady Mustangs.  They jumped out to an early lead and led from start to finish, winning 81-67 in front of a raucous crowd in South Portland.

CM could never get their footing, and found themselves in foul trouble throughout the game.  Having numerous shots seems to go halfway in, only to pop back out, the Lady Mustangs finished the game 1-14 (7%) from the three point line.

Gabby Foy (Wilton, ME) led CM with 21 points, 15 in the 2nd half, which included her 1,000th career point.  Foy became the 6th player in program history to eclipse this mark, and only the 4th to do it within her first two seasons.

Laura Soohey (Bremen, ME) had flirted with another triple-double, finishing with 13 points, 15 rebounds, and 7 blocks.  Soohey also added 4 steals and 3 assist.

Tiana Burton (Brunswick, ME) led SMCC with 21 points on 4-6 shooting from outside.

With the loss, CM falls to 17-5 on the year and 11-2 in the Yankee Conference.  The Lady Mustangs are back in action Friday when they travel to Concord, NH to take on rival, NHTI, in the regular season finale.
