Concord, NH - The field for the Yankee Small College Conference Tournament is set on both the men's and women's side. This year's tournament, which will be hosted by NHTI, will start Thursday, February 19th, with the women's basketball quarterfinals, and conclude on Sunday, February 22, with the men's and women's basketball championship games.
The Lady Mustangs earned the #2 seed for the tournament, after a 12-2 conference record, and finishing 18-5 overall. In their first round game they will take on Eastern Maine CC, the #7 seed. These two squads matched up twice this year, with CM winning both games (12/15/14 @ EMCC, 86-51 & 2/3/15 @ CMCC, 87-46).
If they win their opening round game, the Lady Mustangs will play the winner of #3 Southern Maine CC and #6 Vermont Tech in the semifinals. This game is scheduled for Saturday, February 21st, at 2:00pm.
The men's basketball team finished with the #4 seed, after earning a 9-5 conference record and finishing 13-11 overall. They will be paired up with the #5 seed, Vermont Tech. The Mustangs and Knights split their regular season game this season, each winning on their own home floor. CM won, 102-99, in overtime back on November 16th, while VTC won, 74-59, on January 19th.
The winner of the men's matchup will advance to the semifinal to take on the winner of #1 Southern Maine CC and #8 Eastern Maine CC. This game is schedule for Saturday, February 21st, at 6:00pm.
The winner of the Yankee Conference Tournament receives an automatic bid to the USCAA DII National Tournament in Uniontown, PA.
